Miku is a multi-instrumentalist: besides playing violin and viola in DHE, she studied piano and voice at Oberlin Conservatory, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Music in Vocal and Instrumental Music Education and a minor in Piano Performance. When she is not freelancing with one of these instruments, she teaches middle and upper school music classes at Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia. In the past, she has directed several community and church choirs and youth orchestras. Miku currently lives in Media, PA, with her husband Tony, her daughter Haku, her mom Mariko, and her two cats, Apple Jack and Buster.
